The campsite is the first right after you turn into Hvolsvöllur from the direction of Reykjavík (from the Ring Road), when you are coming from the west on Route 1. The area, which was put into use in 1980, is fenced in with high bushes and each plot is separated by trees. The grounds are level and well drained.
The distance from the main road is 150 metres. There is easy access to all services as the town centre of Hvolsvöllur is only 150 metres away, where you will find a bank, post office, pharmacy, grocery store, beauty parlour, hairdresser, swimming pool, hot tub, library, information centre, café, restaurant, country market, petrol station and fast food restaurant.
There is easy access to many interesting walks, including a 3 km fitness trail, which is popular with those who want to get out and enjoy the outdoors.
The campsite at Hvolsvöllur is an old-growth area with two service buildings. One has a laundry room and a lounge, as well as a simple kitchen.
There is also a new building with a lounge and a meeting room, which also has access for the disabled and a play area for children. There is also an outdoor laundry.
There is a parking area for cars and a bicycle shed, and running water is available on the premises.
The area has a playground for children. We also have two washing machines, as well as a dryer and an outdoor clothesline.
Power lines and Internet connection are available on the premises, and all public services in Hvolsvöllur are within easy reach.
